Vineyard

Philosophy

To grow premium fruit with an organic approach. Aggressive pruning in the winter, selecting healthy canes and nurturing the vines throughout the growing season are critical to wine quality.

Time well spent in the vineyard directly relates to minimal intervention in the winery.

Harvest day is a most difficult decision for the winemaker.  We wait until the seeds are toasty brown and the skins bleed red, the brix and acids are just right and only then can we make the call for a harvest crew.

Another growing season comes to an end...........

Winemaking

Philosophy

To gently create a unique wine that is true to the varietal and the vintage and that expresses the "terroir" of our site.   We believe low fruit yields produce wines with concentrated phenolics, intense structure and flavor.

Our choice of several yeasts for primary fermentation introduces greater complexity and unique aromas in our wines.   The wine ages on the lees in 50% new french oak barrels to create a rich texture and round mouth feel in the finished wine.

Our production is small so that we can personally oversee and handcraft every bottle of wine.

"A little bit of excellence is better than a whole lot of mediocrity".

Elle Rêve :

She Dreams

A woman’s dream to have a vineyard began 20 years ago in St. Helena, California.  It was a sweltering hot August and harvest was in full swing with farmers bringing in grapes to be weighed and processed.   She watched and listened to stories and the dream was born.

The passion for knowledge grew deeper every year. Touring wineries and asking questions only served to fuel the fire to plant a vineyard.

When the opportunity presented itself in the Pacific Northwest, she and her husband bought a small farm in Yamhill County, Oregon. She cleared the land, prepared the soil and planted grape vines.

What was once just a dream............
